Just sitting back reminiscing...

Couple weeks ago randomly drove to Bozeman so I could get my Diego fix

(oh and Colter and Nubia fix too)

Took a quick relaxing dip in the Bozeman Hot Springs.

Felt so good...especially since my job demands me to be on my feet all day!

While I'm on the topic of Bozeman I might as well give those cats a shout out for this big weekend.

Go Cats..... yes boo you MT Griz fans get over yourselves ;)!

Was supposed to drive to Utah this weekend with my Mom to go see Panda and her family.

Dang snow is not cooperating. 14-16 inches predicted tonight. Woof.

So looks like I have the day off tomorrow! Doesn't happen a lot for me.

Lifetime movies here I come!

Highway 87 into Lewy just caved in this morning. Thanks goodness I didn't leave a half hour early to work this morning.

This is just one of the many disasters going on in Lewistown right now. Please keep Lewistown and all the other major cities that are having weather problems in your prayers!.... many houses are completely flooded and ruined sooo sad to see.

So proud of little Weston boy! He graduated from Fairfield High School this last Sunday. Can't wait to see where life will take him!

Mothers Day

Had such a good Mothers Day weekend....spent it with my mamma! Love her so much and am thankful she's my mom! She's my best friend and love that she can put up with me and my drama! She's the best!

Weston graduates in two Sundays!!! How crazy is that?? He's my little brother, too little to go off into the world! Going to miss him like crazy. We like to tease that we are the eternal third wheels of the family...don't know what I'm going to do when he leaves for his mission!

Spend MDAY driving around in the mountains (thankfully ticks weren't out yet) Such a pretty, peaceful day!

So Saturday I rode over to Missoula with my parents to go watch Westy's track meet....on the way home totally spotted this Grizzly bear! I've never seen one in the wild but it was the coolest thing ever! Glad I was in a car :)

Mckay jammed the whole time....I kid you not, he's going to be a music mastermind. He knows everything about guitars(stratocaster to telocaster to acoustic to bass guitars) and he's only three!

Branding Two Zero One One

Nothing better than a good mani to start off branding!!! (Thanks to Renails) I've never seen my fridge so full. Haeli and I made all the food for the crew (a whole whopping 16 ppl...holla) Served sausage egg burritos smothered with a wise surprise that Colter and Nubia taught me about....Guess ya'll will have to come visit me and I'll make you the treat! We made homemade kielbasa chili, cheese tortellini soup, peanut butter and carmel brownies and hoot rolls! I just want to be Julia Child!

My new hairdresser couple friends Alan and Matt who moved here from Seattle. First time on the ranch. They were a great help in the kitchen!

Kylie Snapp the wise wizard vaccination girl! Serious she was amazing! Vaccinated every single calf in the barn.

Freddie and I had fun hanging out!

Came into the calving shed and mom was all by herself babysitting! I will forever have that memory of her and these two sweet boys hanging out! Freddie having some lunch!

Survived prom last week! Fergus and class C prom was on the same day so we were busy girls at the salon....came in around 9:30 and left around six....here are a few pics of some of the girls I did! I la la loved helping get these excited girls ready!

Haeli, Jaxon and I love having our own family home evenings on Sunday.(Since we are the only ones living out here) We loooove building forts and having a candle as our campfire!

I'm Back!

After a three month break from blogging I've decided maybe I should try to be a little better! (It being a Sunday and I'm at the ranch alone and don't have any service on my cell phone(Dang AT&T) may be a few factors weighing in my decision) Anyways....... Life's been so hectic but full of adventures. 2011 has been very good to me! I've got to travel to Utah a couple times 1. watching Jimmer do his thing for the Cougars 2. Celebrate two friends getting married! Feel like I've road tripped to every town in MT in the last two months (or so my car tells me, 10,000 miles in three months) Works been so good, I feel like I'm the luckiest girl to be working where I am right now. I love making people's days and helping women feel beautiful through my talent of doing hair. My clients are awesome. Sarah and Dusty tied the knot last weekend (04-01-11) They were sealed in the Billings temple. I'm so proud of them and for the example they are to me to work towards a temple marriage. Sarah sure knows how to plan a fun wedding! I was on a high for a week. Had so much family travel from California and Utah. Cousins, 2nd cousins, 3rd cousins truly rule! Not even sure who had my camera for the night but picked out a few pictures to share with ya'll of the special night! Their reception was held on Saturday night at the Galletin Gateway in Bozeman....all I can say is GORGEOUS!

Denver Fun!

Had a great educational trip (err and shopping/eating)

I'm even more in love with our new mineral makeup line and ready to dive in and start making the women of Lewistown beautiful!

Nae and I appreciated the cows outside of the art center being ranch girls and all!

Carlie's cousin lives right down town Denver in a loft style condo...gorgeous and was so convenient to be close to everything.

Never has so much amazing food in my life! It'd be worth going back just to eat out.

Makeup class! Sally and Bre (starters of Alchemy Mineral Blends) did an awesome job. They taught us a lot about application and was a great review for me.

Favorite part of the whole trip....We were all in heels and our feet were hurting after 2 blocks of walking, a bike cab pulled up and saved the day! All four of us piled into a two person chariot.

He peddled us through the scenic route in downtown.

Had a blast but was definitely ready to be home!

Rodeo and Snowboarding~

I remember going to this rodeo back a few years ago thinking how big it was. This year Weston and I couldn't believe how small it felt after watching the NFR. Still a blast though.

Friday night the temperature was down to seven below and Colt and I agreed that if it didn't warm up we'd bag the snowboarding.

Had a chinook blow in which ='d perfect snowboarding weather :)

Westy, Colt-the-bolt and I had the best time chatting, laughing, wrecking and just hanging out!
I have some pretty cool brothers, Weston wasn't planning on coming till last minute so Colter found him an old snowboard buried in the back of our storage room and completed the ensemble with muck boots!

He definitely had his work cut out for him, by the end of the day his nick name was ghost rider

(or snow angel:) ) He did great considering what he was using to ride down a giant mountain with. AND Colter is just the best/most encouraging teacher!

We left the mountain just in time to get home, clean up and head back into the Saturday night Rodeo....

Had the best Christmas Eve celebration with family last night! I feel so blessed to be around the family I have here in Lewistown. They're such good examples to me!

Christmas Eve was hosted at my house this year! Oh how I love hosting parties!

Dinner consisted of:

Fresh homemade bread bowls

Turkey noodle soup

Cheesy Broccoli soup

Vegetable Tortellini soup

Kielbasa Chili

Crisp romaine, baby spinach salad topped with ham, turkey, cheese, bacon, tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, boiled eggs and green onions!

Weston, Haeli and Jaxon were quite the helpers.

Untangled Ugly Sweater Party

Everyone came dressed to impress in their most ugly sweaters Friday night!

There was live music, appetizers, soup bar, drinks, door prizes, free gift certificates for pedi and highlights, sweater contest etc!...

We were able to launch our new Alchemy Mineral Blends make up line too!

Ended the weekend off last night with some quality caroling time with the Allen and Shobe family! Worked up some sweet harmonies and drove around in the 10 degree weather. Brrrr We caroled to a few older people who have recently lost their spouses, was so touching to see the tears and joy on their faces. Think this is going to

be a new tradition for the Allen family :)

11 day Vaca!

Fun filled Vacation spent in Arizona and Las Vegas! I'm actually glad to be back and getting used to real life again. Definitely like structure.
Had the best time though, have so many pictures from the trip so enjoy!

Baby Freddie J's first trip on the airplane....didn't even make a peep the whole two and a half hours!

Around hour two of flight I decided to give mini lip makeovers:)

Haeli my mom and I were the obnoxious people on the planes being really loud and laughing the whole time... oops :0!

I have not jumped on a trampoline for years.... any down time Haeli and I were out there burning those extra Thanksgiving calories consumed!

Haeli's 5k Turkey waddle she participated in. She finished without stopping which was her goal.

Luke's first time meeting Freddie....I'm thinking him and Julia looked like naturals holding him(hint hint)

Had the chance to go visit Luke and Julia a couple times out in Gilbert. So proud of both of them for working so hard in their dental schooling. Love getting to spend time with Julia too..... Evertime I hang out with her I leave wanting to be a better person! She's one of a kind!

My Aunt Marylynn and Uncle Randy invited Weston and I to join them in going to Vegas to watch the National Finals Rodeo. Was the BEST experience. Had a huge suite at the Orleans. The rodeo was absolutely amazing! One of the best form of entertainment I have ever been to. Can't say I didn't mind looking at all those cowboys too:) Already planning on going again next year! Long live cowboys!

Man, where did the month of October disappear to?!
Can't say I don't mind time flying by because in less than a month I'll be in the sunshine state of Arizona with my WHOLE family ( been FOREVER since that has happened)
Weston and his team have completed their regular season of football and are off to play offs. They beat Malta, number one team in the state, this last weekend. 20-0 A very exciting game to watch. They all played so great. Love watching two Allen cousins play together!

Planned my first baby shower for Freddie J. Have to say so myself it was a rockin' party and had a great turn out. Freddie was the hit of the party!

Munched on rich chocolate and cream cheese strawberry cupcakes, kisses, nuts and crackers.
Jodie Shobe helped me with the treats. Panda gave me the recipe for the strawberry cream cheese cupcakes....umm best cupcakes ever!(AND a lot of calories...bon appetite)

Dad is getting ready to ship his calves in the next couple weeks or so. Dad, mom, Weston and I made a quick search for any missing pairs last Saturday on the mountain ranch. 20+miles on a horse = three pairs found nestled away in the pine trees. Everytime I have the opportunity to take a day off and ride for a day I forget how much I love my simple Montana life. (no makeup, hair not done, no cell service, no facebook, no worries:) ) Wouldn't change it for anything.

Before taking off on my vacation to Utah Renae treated me to a pedi!!! La la loved it!! Great way to start off a weekend of craziness/driving/football/no sleep/shopping etc!

Started the vaca off with all you can eat Sushi in Provo! Can you say Bon Appetite!

Cousins rule!!! Loved getting to spend time with Brianna and getting to know her better! Stayed at her apt Friday night and I believe we talked for four hours straight that night!! Love girl nights!

About a month ago Sarah and I decided we wanted to hit up a BYU football game this year so that is the real reason of this trip (Yes we drove a 20 hr round trip to watch the game....true blue fans right here). Dusty (Sarah's bf/my cousin) came with us. While we shopped he would go golfing and do the more manly things. Had so much fun with them both.

Can you tell Bri can't wait for Christmas?? AND she ended up buying all of that, her roomates won't allow any decorations till November! The countdown has begun.

The two love birds on the way to the game. Since traffic is always backed up for hours we decided to take a free shuttle bus from the mall to the stadium.

Was a great homecoming game for the Cougars. They've been struggling this year but pulled through for this game.

Can you tell Sarah and I raided the BYU bookstore for our Cougar gear! Ra ra ra ra ra go COUGARS!!!

Dusty, Sarah and I made a quick stop at temple square Sunday morning to listen to Music and the Spoken Word. Was such an amazing feeling in the tabernacle and listening to the Mormon Tabernacle choir. Sarah and Dusty had never been to look around the square, was fun showing them around.

I've been to Music and the Spoken word two times in my life and usually it's just the choir singing but Sunday the prophet was there listening. Was so amazing to see him in person, you could definitely feel his spirit in the building. Along with the prophet Glen Beck showed up!

Was so nice to get away for a weekend but I definitely was ready to come home and get back to my normal life!! Still trying to catch up from lost sleep!

Haeli and Jaxon around 10 AM waiting for those contractions to start.....

Haeli insisted on having some makeup on before she was too far into labor. :) notice no roots either! That was our ongoing joke, how she would wear her hair, makeup, nails etc!!

12 hours later= Cute little boy! This was seconds after he was pushed out. Haeli is seriously my labor hero! It was such an amazing experience to be there the whole time and to be a part of helping her focus, breathe and relax. She was in so much pain and she fought through it with no drugs! The nurses came in 4 times to ask.." Should we give you pain medication". Everytime the answer was no. My mom was also in the delivery room and really helped her focus. Such an amazing thing that womens bodies can do that no guy will ever experience......She pushed that big Allen head out in 3 contractions (10 minutes). She's amazing!

Jaxon holding his son! Freddie has had respiratory problems since he was born. This morning nurses still had oxygen by him so the doctors decided to fly him over to Great Falls to be on the safe side. Jaxon gave him a blessing before he was flown away in the helicopter. Was such a sweet experience to hear my brother give his first fathers blessing for this little guy to get better. Had everyone teared up.

We meaning my dad, mom,Weston, Jaxon, Haeli, Colter, Nubia and I all had tickets to Brad Paisley last night in Bozeman. Jaxon and Haeli sold their tickets a few months ago thinking it'd be too close to her delivery to be driving. I was supposed to head over yesterday to meet up with Colt, Nubie, Weston and my dad but at the last minute I decided to stay and be with the hospital crew. Even though the concert was amazing so glad I stayed.

Still hasn't had his first bath but look at that dark hair!

Quite the equipment they flew Freddie over in. Little scary looking at him hooked up to all those tubes and IV's.

We're praying his lungs will be trained to start working fully on his own. The doctors say he's doing good just need to keep him at the hospital for a few days to make sure he's 100% ready. Keep him in your prayers.

12:00 Friday Sarah and I jump into cupcake (her escape) and head over to Fairfield

4:00 PM Arrive in FF( with a 2 hour stop in GF for shopping:D )

5:00 PM Head to Shelby, MT ( football game)

10:45 PM Leave Shelby

12:30 AM Arrive back to FF

12:00 PM Drive BACK to Lewistown (for walk em' boys concert)

3:45 PM Arrive back to L-town (had a short delay in GF again for shopping...Can't beat Herbergers Goodwill sale)

4:00 PM Have a client come in for highlights, Sarah comes in with her date (DUSTY) and wants her hair chopped off.

9:00 PM Head to the fairgrounds for the wedding the Walk Em' Boys played at.

12:00 AM Go to bed

6:00 AM Wake up and drive BACK to Great Falls for stake conference

5:00 PM Finally back home!

Still exhausted from ALL the traveling. Headed back to FF Friday for Weston's homecoming game! :D love life!

Football season has officially started! Drove over to Thompson Falls last weekend for Weston's second football game.(6 and a half hour drive from Lewistown---woofta)
Friday evening we stopped at the Griz stadium to catch the last few minutes of the boys practice. Later headed over to the hotel to help serve the whole team a hearty meal.

Haeli's family came to pick her up so she could send some quality time with them.

The whole gang....

Three cousins playing together! They did awesome. They'll have a really good team and I'm so excited to follow them....(state champions?...I think so:)) Collin caught a TD and West ran two in, Slade had great runs also. The final score ended up being 47-7.

Last night was our version of the "big dance" at Untangled Salon.

So many community memebers came and were very impressed.

Now women have a place to come escape from their lives and pamper themselves.

A local restaurant catered for us.

Our guests dined on fresh juicy pineapple, cantaloupe,strawberries,oranges and watermelon along with chilled creampuffs, salami, cheese, crackers, mini tacos and cookies.~

Everytime Haeli and I would grab a drink we made sure to take a big whiff and make sure we weren't having an alcoholic beverage (ha ha)

How cute are my two Haeli's:) Sister-in-law Haeli was the only one to stay home in Lewistown and come to the big event. I will love her forever. Weston had his first football game in Fairfield so everyone peaced out on us. (Which by the way they won 42-0:) ) Good friend Hayley drove all the way from Rexburg Idaho to support us.
She's been in the Paul Mitchell Hair School there for two months now! Isn't her hair so cute??

I'm so grateful for this opportunity to work in the best salon in Lewistown!
(Carlie's good friend Scott ,who is a traveling color specialist,told us that he has taught at some amazing salons around the United States and that we are right up there with the best.
Very nice compliment for us)

Haeli and I were planning on playing for the live music portion for the night. Originally Weston and Jaxon were supposed to perform also but that was before we found out West had his first game of the season. So Haeli and I ended up setting up our sound system by ourselves (which is not exactly my cup of tea) I had talked to one of my music friend earlier in the week asking if he'd want to just come make sure that I set it up correctly. He runs the local open mic night and has his own sound system so he's pretty legit (secretly hoping he'd offer to set it all up) He sent another one of our friends over and he added to our original set up and made the sound sound twice as good! I felt so loved that night. All five of them are in a band and they offered to come play. (Drums, harmonica, bass etc ...the whole shebang)
PS Brian Wicks the bass player builds guitars for Modest Mouse, and does repair work for Zack Wylde.
Even though all these guys are in their 40's and 50's I realized after last night they're my true friends forever. I've never had friends like this who genuinely care for me and dropped everything they were doing for the night to come help and support me. My heart was so full!
Haeli and I played for an hour or so and they took the next hour! Love them all.

Little blurry but this is the hallway to our spa. The spa consists of a waxing room, two tanning rooms, a pedicure room and massage room. I wish there were before pictures to show how ugly this spot used to be. The space used to be a movie store and every wall was painted a bright canary yellow. Amazing what a little paint and TLC will do to a place!

We had over 25 bouquets sent to the salon from clients! We were so happy with how everything turned out! Felt very loved....

Last big family outing before my mom, dad and Weston move to Fairfield to complete his senior year.

Celebrated Haeli's 22nd Birthday on Thursday! She came into my shop and I highlighted and styled her hair as a little present.

She walked out rockin' Jennifer Anniston curls and a fresh color!

We celebrated the night half of her birthday in Rising Trout by singing at open mic night.

The Walk Em' Boys kicked off the show for Baxter Black Saturday night in Hamilton, MT.

They sound better every show they play!

Baxter Black is a Cowboy poet and humorist from Arizona. He previously was a large animal veterinarian so a lot of his jokes were about real life things that all those ranchers/farmers can relate to.

Not going to lie, didn't get a lot of the jokes but instead was entertained by watching other people roll in laughter!

As soon as they were done they headed inside to set up for the dance later on that night.
Haeli taught me how to run the sound board inside, pretty interesting stuff. Was hard not to turn Weston's guitar up on every song ;)

Had the pleasure of holding Jodie and Kyle's little girl Hadley for most of the night. She is the happiest baby. Everytime you look at her she flashes the biggest grin she possibly can! Love her.

Later when the show died down the Allens/Shobes/Majors represented on the song 500 miles! Kari (Kyle and Justins baby sister)and Big R la la love this song! Every show its the first request to come from their mouths. I think you can tell from this picture everyone loves to dance to it :)

Overall was a great turn out. Lots of country dancers over in the Missoula area.

Great to be back home after two weekends of long traveling though!

Last week went a little like this:

Wednesday night Haeli, Emery (H's little sista) and I drove lill' Neph into the Lewistown fair.

Ate a little dinner and cooled off with the famous homemade "Baraco" ice cream bar.

P.S. It is not named after Barack Obama or we would not be purchasing them!

Walked to the 4-H barn to observe all the hard work of the Lewistown youth.

People who know me might think I am slightly obsessed with animal print.

Didn't take me too long to scout out my favorite sheep in the barn!

Ended that night by putting my salon flyers on everyone's windshield :D

Thursday morning Weston came into the shop for a quick trim..turned into a quick color. Poor brothers have to put up with anything I want to try on their hair!

Before my dad, Weston, Nick, Haeli and I took off for the family reunion in Utah we stopped to say goodbye to the hardcore hayers who stayed home to finish.

Arrived to Logan at 5 AM Friday morning.

We are what you call night driving warriors.

Around West Yellowstone I almost hit a wolf which was walking in the middle of the road not to concerned about being killed.

Out of all the driving my dads done he's never seen a wolf in the wild.

Pretty cool and for all you Twilight fans it made it 100% more real that Jacob does exist :)

Gracie Allen performed her Irish dancing that she has taken part of for 4 (?) years now. She did awesome!

After the talent show the Russ Allen family had our own jam party in the lobby of the resort.

Preslie (Scott and Marianne's baby girl) Used to babysit their family when I was living in Utah. So good to see them all. I hope my girls will be as cute as they are!

Weston played "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift and I have never heard so many little girl voices singing their hearts out. Soooo cute!

Saturday drove two hours South to my old stomping grounds of Provo to meet up with my Paul Mitchell besties.
We had the best time catching up on each others lives.

Sarah's still as cute as ever, working at Paul Mitchell the School as a Learning Leader. Jessica was just engaged on the 12th. Her ring is huge! Amber is due in October with her first baby boy. Rosanne is the newlywed of the group! I'm so lucky to have met these lifelong friends in school!

Sarah ended up working her magic and talking this guy into letting me bungee jump for free.

(All without my knowledge) So scary but fun. I don't like being in front of big crowds drawing this kind of attention to myself but put my brave face on.

Sunday we all parted and headed back to the Big Sky Country.

Cattle Drive 2010

The morning comes early on day of the cattle drive!

Our help consisted of Monte, Julie, Joanne,Cotton (our crew who flew in from Arizona), Terrena, Haeli, Emery, Tom and Sue Gollahon, Echo, Shiloh, Josey, Jarett, Jordan, Lyle, Jaxon, Weston, Nick, Dad, Mom and I.

Was a gorgeous day to escape up to the Little Snowies for a day of riding.

Monte and Julie Nevitt. Love them. Julie and Joanne came in to my shop to have their hair done. So fun to have girl time/talk.

Been too much fun having them here.

Weston and Prince. Weston still amazes me. He will get on any bucking horse or jump into a small pen of eight huge charlois bulls with no fear~ So brave.

Tom and Sue were such a great help. They are great riders and we couldn't of gathered the herd without them. They drove the two and a half hour drive from Fairfield to be here at 5:30 AM Saturday morning.

Haeli was a trooper. She jumped on captain and rode him the whole way up. I'd say pretty impressive for a seven month pregnant lady.

Two of my favorite animals on the ranch. Maggie our Jack Russell and Bubbles. Bubbles is the best cow horse ever. He really is my dads horse but I love riding him so much that I've taken him over:) Guess that happens when you're the baby girl of the family.

A year ago they were prepping for a wedding.... a year later they're prepping for a baby.

Today we can all barely walk because we're so sore. Back, shoulders, butt, abs, arms, knees. Hoping the soreness is gone soon!

Jaxon, Weston, Emery and my dad headed back up to the ranch this morning at 5:30 to finish trailing the cows that were left behind. I have no idea how they crawled out of bed this morning.

Joanne, Cotton, Julie and Monte drove to Billings early this morning to catch their flight back to Arizona (on Alligiant) Joanne called after church and informed us their flight had an emergency landing in Flagstaff because an engine had caught fire. They all exited the plane with emergency slides. They are so blessed to have landed safe and had nothing worse happen.

Thanks for everyone who came and rode to help our family out! See you in a year!

Swim Day

Jaxon, Haeli, Hagen my dad and I made the trek over to our old stomping grounds (Fairfield) Saturday morning. We were grateful to make it on time...Due to Big R speeding we had at 15 minute delay around Kibbie's Corner:) Somehow he talked himself out of a ticket.

Jaxon, Weston and I were invited to be a part of the Swim Day entertainment show Saturday afternoon. Swim day is a big event that happens once a year in FF. They raise money for the public pool to keep it up and running. This year it was combined with an all class reunion.

Lots and lots of people.

The boys have been haying non stop all week so we didn't have time to practice. Winged it but it went great! We sang Reasons Why by Nickelcreek which we've had lots of practice singing over the years so we were able to get away without practicing.

It was so great seeing all my old classmates/friends/family!

Fairfield is the malting barley capital of the world, meaning they produce all the beer for the world. Everytime I see those big grain bins I feel at home.

Sunday we attended church in Fairfield. Was weird being back but good to see our church family. All the kids that were seniors when I was freshmen were are all either married or have kids or are pregnant. CRAZY!

We celebrated grandma LaDeanne's 80th birthday party after in Augusta.

Can't beat nice weather, food and family.

I love her and am so grateful she is my Grandma.

Is everyone back on their feet from the midnight showing of Eclipse last night??

Haeli, Weston, Ethan (Westy's high school buddie) and I graced the Judith Theatre late last night.

Weston and Ethan were brave boys and stood in line(with ALL those girls) to save us seats while we drove and bought our caffeine fix for the night.

A couple years ago the Judith Theatre was restored to its original beauty. Isn't that balcony to kill for?

*Favorite event of the night* Everyone who came to the midnight premier had an opportunity to enter a drawing for free t-shirts and posters(I know only in Lewistown you could do this) We had entered Weston without him knowing and his name was drawn and yelled throughout the whole theatre. He had to walk to the very front to receive his treasure! Haeli and I along with all his high school girls screamed the whole time and poor Weston was soooo embarrassed!

Day of the Father...

Isn't he just so handsome?? For fathers day we (meaning Weston, Jaxon, Mom, Dad and I) headed up to the mountain ranch for the evening. The cows were shipped to their new home for the summer on Monday so we were checking on them and delivering them their salt and mineral. It was absolutely gorgeous up there! I think I'm going to have to plan some camping trips up there this summer(when the fifth wheel trailer gets parked up there of course:)) We had just such a nice Fathers day spending it with the little family that's here left in Lewistown.

This pictures just cracks me up everytime I look at it. Jaxon, Weston and I were trying to pull a high school musical jump in the air. This was the best picture that turned out. Hahah poor Jaxon, this is a classic Jay pose though!

The ranch! We had lots of trouble getting out. I thought we were going to die. It started raining and Dad was sliding everywhere. Parts of the road were cliff drop offs and I was praying the whole time we wouldn't slide off. So so scary but we made it.

candlelight dinner at...

Lola's Friday night!
Every third Friday night Lola's has a candlelight dinner and live music. All the musicians are West and I's good friends (even though they're all 40+, we love them) This is one of the reasons I love Lewistown, not a lot of small towns have places to
escape for a night and eat delicious food, amazing gelato and listen to rockin' music:)

After we headed to the late showing of Robinhood. Was a great movie but wouldn't suggest seeing it when you are already tired....its a long one!

I started work here in Lewistown about 3 weeks ago. I love the salon I'm working at now and wouldn't trade it for the world. We have a total of two stylists and one nail tech. So very small but a chill environment. We all get along so well and I'm so happy I decided to come back and work here.
Life can't get much better...

Walk Em' Boys

Welcome to Mizoola....

The Walk Em' Boys played at the University of Montana's Adam Center Friday night for a ultra ultra right winged convention. There were quite a few gems there. Didn't know where Missoula had been hiding them all this time:)
Anyways the boys sounded amazing....this was the sound board/ guys getting them ready for the night!

West wore his favorite cut off redneck flannel, he thought it would be fitting for the type of people that were there!

They played in Darby Saturday afternoon ALL DAY. They started at 2 and didn't get done till 10. It was a Darby Fun Day type of show but rained most of the day. Was a cold afternoon. The camera had died by then so sorry no pictures. We all stayed in a cabin Saturday night up in the Bitterroot mountains. It was GorGeoUs. Even though it was fun filled weekend I was glad to sleep in my own bed last night and am ready to start work this week!

Nuevo De Mayo

Sarah and I decided to celebrate Cinco De Mayo a couple days later. We served authentic Mexican food! (Recipes from Nubia. = yum!) Sarah was in charge of the salsa and I was in charge of the spicy shredded beef. This was my first time ever cooking a roast by myself but have to say I was pretty impressed with myself. Aunt Jan brought out a delicious Mexican soup and homemade peach cobbler. We weren't expecting many people to come but had 13 people come party with us.

My mom dad and Weston are in Pennsylvania for the week meeting the newest addition to our family...Van Tingey. Jaxon, Haeli and I are holding down the fort this week~

So shout out to Mom for Mothers day...you rock!

36 HoUr Power Outage Survivor~

Thursday morning around 9:00 AM the lights started flickering at the ol el' rancho. Power went completely off and didn't come back on till Friday night 11:00 PM! Has been a crazy last few days. These Montana Spring storms are unbelievable. It snowed over a foot and a half in a day. The wind was blowing 50-60 mph, couldn't see one thing. Roads were closed all around Lewistown so we were literally stuck here! Jaxon, Haeli, Weston, Mom, Dad and I were all stuck at the party house. We have a wood stove and a huge fireplace so we kept the fires going and tried to stay warm. We had six water bottles on hand for the six of us. To top it all Haeli has a bladder infection and all the doctor said was to drink lots of water to help it. So she was out gathering snow and boiling it on our grill. Last night around five Haeli and I drove into Lewistown and raided Aunt Jans shower. We couldn't take being dirty anymore!
Looking back on it now I can kinda laugh but it wasn't very fun having no electricity. I remember back when I was little I'd love when the power would go off but I've grown to love having heat, a hot shower, a blow dryer, cell phone, music, light etc...Definitely thankful for electricity!

Haeli and I rounded up all the candles we had. This is how we would see at night after it'd go dark!

Just a plethora of pictures from branding this last weekend! We had loads of fun but was a long day of work! Rolled out of bed around 5AM to cook breakfast for everyone Saturday morning and the last calf was branded around 7:30 PM.
The boys were a little worried we were going to be short handed but turned out perfect. We had the McClendons (from church) the missionaries and cute gym boy Tyler Cross come out and help! Boy did we all feel sore the next morning...

Westy has been to quite the cornucopia of proms this last month. Belt, Lewistown, Augusta and Power this weekend. This last weekend we (as in Dad, Mom, Haeli and Sarah) decided we'd make the drive out to Augusta and watch the grand event. We all probably had more fun than everyone there. After family was kicked out we all had our own Allen dance party outside the gym in the rain! Good times~

I'm so grateful for my family and friends! I love them so much and have a blast every time I get to hang with them. Seriously they're the best!
I've been having model days for my work (prepping us to start taking clients the beginning of April Woot Woot) I've been dragging in my friends and family to come get their hair done this month. The candidates for this Saturday were Miss Sarah Downey, Marin Swenson and Jaxon! They were such troopers. They all turned out looking like rockstars. I love learning the Aveda color line even though its pretty complicated, I'm more amazed every time working with it. I'm so grateful for my job right now. I'm learning more than I could imagine from the best of the best stylists.
Sarah has been taking the missionary discussions and has recently decided to get baptized at the end of this month. We're all so excited for her! To celebrate Sarah and I went out to sushi last night~ Yuuum

Jaxon had a auction afterwards for the National Turkey Convention. He did awesome as always. The crowd loved him and he had people asking for his business card afterwards.

I begged Jaxon and Haeli to come have a sleepover at my house, I've been home all weekend in this huge house by myself. We all squeezed into my bed and lasted till about 2 AM before we were all up and way to hot, squished and uncomfortable! They ended up having to leave around six to head back to church in Lewistown, so not much sleep but sure a memorable night.:)

Jaxon pulled our fifth wheel camper along with the band trailer behind over to Missoula this weekend for their shows Friday and Saturday night. (Wish I had a picture of the rig...priceless) The Walk Em' Boys can truly say they've been on tour now! They made lots of connections to people who want them to come back in the next couple months.

One thing I love about living in Great Falls is meeting up with my dad and brothers when they are driving through on Monday nights! Nothing better than eating a little Flying J for din din!
I have been so incredibly busy with my new job. Usually go to work between 8:30 and 9 and get back home around six or seven 5-6 days a week. Last week pulled some 11 hour days. Trying to stay positive about it all but it is definitely taking up all of my time.
This weekend the boys have a show in Missoula on Friday and Saturday, definitely excited to have a little break and slip away! Happy Tuesday to everyone!

New Year, New Job, New Home

Happy New Year to everyone! Today I started my new job and Studio Montage! Glad to have the first day past. Definitely going to have to get back into practice of being on my feet for 8-9 hours. I love my job though, love coming home spelling like Aveda! I'm going to be assisting the senior stylists for the first 3-4 months. I'm grateful for the assisting program. The program allows newbies to watch and interact with hair dressers who have been in practice for more than 20 years. Going to help me feel more confident in my skills. I spent the day learning the new wash house experience Studio Montage has incorporated into their program. Promise you it will be the best shampoo you've ever had! (heated towels, hand warmers, chakra which are aromas, massages etc..)

Here's a picture of my house I'm living in. Living with a young couple that I knew from church in L-town. I absolutely love it. Its exactly a 100 years old this year. Has so much character!

After church this afternoon my mom, dad, Weston and I headed on down to the 1st Presbyterian church for the annual community Christmas Cantata that Jaxon and Haeli are sharing their voices in. I'm officially in the Christmas spirit! The songs the choir sang were superb!

Friday morning the family showed up to help me move back to MT. I had bought tickets to the BYU Airforce game a while back ago for all of us to go. The weather could of been much worse but we lucked out!

Lewistown's American History teacher played football at Utah State University with Jeff Jorgenson. So he arranged for Weston to meet up with him and his son Jan Jorgenson who is a starter for the team. (Defensive End) He was a 2008 All-American Candidate and Defensive player of the year. He should be drafted to the NFL but his mom said he wants to be a seminary teacher. Isn't that the sweetest?

Triathlon~

Yay~ I did it! I participated in my first Triathlon ever today. ( Run a 5k, Bike 10 miles, Swim 350 m) It was really hard but the feeling after was well worth it! I finished in a hour and a half but I know it could of been done faster. (Next time :)) I took my time during my transitions that cost me some time. My goal was to just finish but I finished without stopping! Excited to start training seriously for my next one~

Last Saturday my roommates and I saw the Michael Jackson movie. Loooved it! If anyone has the chance to go see it before it is out of theatres...GO! Best movie by far I've seen! You'll be dancing/singing right along with him the whole movie!

I graduated school yesterday! My first day off! Loving it but looking forward to the adventures a head of me! Thanks for everyone who supported me through school! You all rock!

Football and Hair~

Just got back from the BYU vs TSU football game. Brrr is all I have to say!! My feet are still un-thawing. Very disappointing game to watch tonight for all the BYU fans. TCU blew the cougars out of the water. ESPN was here covering it tonight and was not the best game to show.
(Didn't know TCU's colors were purple...oops for showing up in their team colors;])
This is TJ, my cousin Ole's old mission companion. Actually my first time meeting him, he's a very nice, funny kid. Had fun sitting with him and his sister and brother in law. Very nice family!

Sneak peak of another photo shoot. This was just a photo snapped with my camera but very eager to see the prints from the professional photographer. The overall theme for the school photo shoot was to have that Tim Burton feel/Halloween. We went for the distressed woman who just broke up with a significant other look. Very happy with how everything turned out.

Can truly say I'm a rockstar! Today I completed the extension class for Rockstar Hair. Paul Mitchell doesn't offer teaching extensions so you have to go pay for the class and do it on your own time. Joree and Kara from school took it also. Was a long but fun day! Was standing from 9 until 3...
My models name was Jari, this was my first time meeting her. Wanted to make sure her hair was well blended because its one of my biggest pet peeves when you know someone has fake hair by a big difference in hair length. Here are a few pictures of my final project! Enjoy~

Nothing too exciting has happened, just been going to school trying to finish up my remaining 200 hours!
Every so often we have movie days, mostly just a way to make money for the school. Last Wednesday everyone watched Love Happens, we were all excited for a great Jennifer Anniston chick flick, everyone ended up crying instead! A bit depressing was mostly about dealing with the loss of loved ones. Has anyone else seen it?

Rosanne(on the left) just recently got engaged! She's marrying a boy from MT! Who'd of guessed!? I will have the privilege of attending her open house in French Town over Thanksgiving!

My friend Nathan asked me today if i wanted to go to the BYU football game today. Agreed because I will never turn down a football game :), was so hot the first half, everyone was drenched in sweat! I think you can tell by my face that by the end I was completely exhausted! BYU took on Colorado State this afternoon, the stadium was packed full, this was the second week in a row that all 65,000 tickets were sold. The fans are crazy for BYU, entertaining to watch everyone get so involved in the game. Nathan is in some club so he has season tickets for club seating which is nice because your seats are great! Half time we got to go cool off in the tent where they had every food imaginable for all the members and was air conditioned. During the third quarter cups of ice cream were handed out to everyone! Definitely felt spoiled but loved it and had a great time :) Go Cougars!

My friend Mckay asked me to go to his cousins wedding reception Friday night. Was up in West Jordan in some garden reception place, was gorgeous inside. (Have even more ideas for my perfect wedding reception :o) Was asked a couple times if I was his wife, little awkward, but you have to expect it being asked living in Utah at age 20! We ended up driving to Salt Lake and eating at a southwestern grill and listening to live music at the gateway later on cause the crackers and cheese weren't doing it for us at the reception.
PS Weston, you could of totally rocked it at the street jam going on, I think you should come down and we'll set up and make us a little molla!

I've been the worst at updating the blog lately. Been so busy with school, my graduation date is set for Nov. 13th, very excited for but also nervous. Starting to fill out applications to salons/spas back in Montana. Haven't decided yet where I'm living but have it narrowed down between Bozeman and Billings.
Last Saturday after school, all us hairdressers headed up to Park City. Amber's parents own a home there and she was kind enough to invite us all to stay for the night! We all had so much fun, Amber, Kara, and Sara's husbands also came. We all made dinner together Saturday night consisting of Sean's yummy cheeseburgers, green salad, chips, and mint pie! After dinner we kicked it for the rest of the night. Played the Wii Fit, had some good laughs at Rosanne's hoola hooping skills! I brought my guitar up, Sara's husband Ethan plays so we had fun taking turns playing for the group. Also Played Catch Phrase, watched a movie, listened to the thunderstorm, ate chocolate, drank hot chocolate, chatted, giggled......
Sunday we ate breakfast together. Sara is the best pancake cook ever, she was spelling words and making faces into the pancakes! We all were very impressed with her skills! haha
All five of these girls are so awesome! I'm glad we have all got to know each other. Going to miss them all so much when I move in a month and a half! Great lifelong friends I'll always have!
We have one more big adventure planned before we are all done with school, Sara has already bought tickets to the midnight showing of New Moon! (We loooove Edward) Woo Hoo!

Woof-ta! What a fun week!
Jaxon and Haeli tied the knot Saturday~
She looked so happy and beautiful and Jaxon sooo handsome.
Most of the Nevitts came Thursday afternoon and flew out of Billings this morning.
Nate and Panda drove in Friday afternoon from SLC
Totals out to 25 people who stayed out at the ranch! Seriously so much fun!

We, meaning Weston, Lyndee, Nubia and I watched the little kids while everyone was in the temple. Anna realized she didn't recognize a lot of us and started crying for her mommy and daddy. She'd point and every person or car while crying thinking it was her mom or dad! We finally calmed her down and all the kids enjoyed the bag of Doritos:)

They looked so happy, the day before they were in a motorcycle accident. They were coming back out to the ranch and his tire blew out. So thankful they weren't hurt worse than they were!

Today for class we had Dean Banowetz, hair stylist for American Idol, Ryan Seacrest, Leeza Gibbons, Ellen, cut Zack Effrons hair etc..really the list goes on and on. Back in February Paul Mitchell Schools all around the country were having a fundraiser for a bunch of different organizations. The top 12 School who made the most money were rewarded with a guest artist. Provo, being the twelve school, was awarded with Dean.
He walked in and was seriously build like a football player. (Except a little on the chunky side) I whispered to my friend, that's cool that a straight guy does hair for all these famous people. Well after about a second of him talking we realized he wasn't. Which is fine just surprised us because he definitely doesn't look the part.
It was interesting to hear about all the stars of American Idol. Kellie Pickler was a big air head...didn't say those exact words, but close;). Carrie Underwood, one of the most beautiful women he's worked on, has absolutely no personality though. Said she pretty much sits and stares at walls, didn't care what he did to her hair at all. It was fun for me to hear all these stories about the contestants just because I'm a big fan of American Idol. He quit the show and now is working on different things that he wants to accomplish. He has been Ryan Seacrest's personal stylist for a while but quit that also around Memorial Day.
Talked a lot about goals, motivating us all to make the best of school while we're here.
He has two assistants that graduated from Paul Mitchell Schools! (Holla at Paul Mitchell!!!) Gave us his email to contact him if anyone is interested in TV/film hair and makeup. Can help get us started.
This is one more reason I love I chose a Paul Mitchell School to go to. They truly care about us and want us to be taught by the best in the industry!!

Every Sunday night our ward has ward prayer together (kind of a Utah thing) Give a spiritual thought, treats, game etc... They started a new love box where someone writes a boy and a girl's name in the ward that should go out. The boy has to ask the girl out that week. Last night someone thought It'd be funny to put mine and Bobby's name in it! Have to love singles wards~ So we are having a workout date this week! Cycling and Steam Room!

My last Sunday in Lancaster. We took so many pictures trying to get a good one, but this is my favorite because you can see Noa trying to get in it. I never even noticed till I had downloaded all my pictures!

Oquirrh Temple~

Couple months ago I had ordered tickets to go to the Oquirrh Temple open house, Alan, Nicole, Eric, Bobby and I hopped in the Grand Cherokee and headed up! Was beautiful temple, I'm glad I had the opportunity to go through before it was dedicated.

The night started out with a Mexican Fajita Dinner at Nicole's. She makes a mean batch of Fajitas! I whipped out some homemade salsa this morning to contribute to the feast... Was a very yummy dinner!

So glad for my cousins and friend that went with me! I love the feeling I have in the temple and outside of it! I know the temple is the most sacred place on earth for members of our church. No matter how busy and hectic your life is you can always escape it and enter the temple and have a holy feeling.
While I was walking through the brides room looking at how beautiful everything was I couldn't help but get excited for when I can someday get married in the temple~

Bobby and I have attempted hiking the Y at night two times now, due to him being scared we always have to turn around! Tonight we finally made it to the top! Started a little earlier than we usually do so we had day light.
Our hearts were thumping and our legs were burning but it was the best feeling to make it to the very top right at sunset! Gorgeous view of the whole city, mountains and the Utah lake.
Bobby packed my lap top up and we even watched about a quarter of Oceans 13.:) I wasn't too comfortable sitting down in the dark for that long after that huge, nasty black spider I saw.(I HATE spiders if you couldn't tell) Fun night though!

Headed on down to Lola's tonight for open mic. Was so good to see all my old friends from high school that came. One of my best guy friends ,Matt, was the featured artist, brought back good ol' memories from playing with him in HS. Haeli sang Billie Jean in memory of Michael Jackson while Mike accompanied her with his "bucket drum". After both of us harmonized on Miley Cyrus's The Climb. I finished up with a cover of a Maroon 5 song...This Love! Weston worked out a sick coffee shop guitar part!Miss playing with my brother! He's seriously amazing...
Brian Wicks carried his homemade bass guitar over from his shop. Coolest instrument ever! (He owns the local guitar shop in town and also makes the guitars for Modest Mouse) I have a secret crush on him, even though he's a little older! (hehe)
Tomorrow I leave bright and early to go visit Panda! WOO HOO!

Confusion!

Due to some confusion Luke wanted me to clear up that he handled Margret just fine last Saturday.:) Still being so young she doesn't like to be away from other horses so when Luke was out in the woods on her trying to gather cows she wouldn't want to move but Margret did great with Haeli on her with all the other horses around! HAHAHA We love our big cowboy Luke!;)

Cattle Drive 09'

Saturday morning we were all up at 5:30 AM ready to head to the mountains to push our cows up to the windmill(the very upper part of our ranch) by 8:30 everyone had eaten their breakfast, loaded up horses, loaded our lunch etc...

Every year rounding up the cows gets easier b/c the mamma cows know what we're doing, so they cooperate. This year went well! No major accidents or big problems! We probably ended up riding around 10-12 miles on horse back. Dad had brought 3 semi-trained horses. Luke, Jaxon and Dad had the pleasure of riding them:) Luke ended up having to get off Margret b/c she wouldn't do one thing for him. Haeli ended up on her later and did great!

Around 8:30 PM we all loaded up and headed back home! Such a long but fun day!

I woke up Sunday morning and seriously I have never been so sore! Every muscle in my body hurt!(legs, butt, abs, back, shoulders) I'm definitely not in horse riding shape!

On the way back home Dad's truck said it was -40...haha!

Family Work Party June 09'

Ok so these are on here backwards...so start at the bottom! Picture overload but gives you and idea on our fun Work Party weekend up at the upper ranch! Thanks to all the family that came up and participated/helped! We got so much work done!
Friday night all the lady cousins headed up to the upper ranch to feed the boys and on our way we had a huge Mountain Lion jump out in front of us, took one leap across the road and he was on his way up into the trees. Happened so fast we didn't have time to take a picture, we just screamed! Then a half mile from arriving to our ranch we saw a black bear running across a meadow! First time anyone's seen that kind of wild life on the ranch! Was so thrilling/exciting!
Saturday night we ended the party with a dance down at Cheadle hall. The camera wasn't with us but everyone had fun dancing the last of their energy off to the Walk Em' Boys!
